Rudraksha Guide
What is Rudraksha?
Rudraksha are the dried seeds of the Elaeocarpus ganitrus tree, found in the Himalayan foothills of Nepal, in parts of India and in Indonesia. In Hindu and Buddhist traditions they are strung as malas for prayer and worn as beads, bracelets and pendants.
What does Mukhi mean?
Mukhi (literally “face”) refers to the natural lines that run from the top to the bottom of a bead. A bead with five lines is called 5 Mukhi. The count is natural and cannot be added by carving on a genuine bead.
Understanding Mukhi types
Beads range from 1 to 21 Mukhi and beyond, as well as special forms such as Gauri Shankar and Ganesh. 5 Mukhi is the most common; higher counts are rarer and generally priced higher.
Traditional and religious significance
Each Mukhi is traditionally associated with a deity and certain qualities. These are spiritual beliefs passed down through scripture and practice; they are not medical or guaranteed outcomes.
